Chapter 1

1 And a laying forth in word from the Lord causes itself to come into existence towards Jonas, the one not learning, laying forth,

2 "You must stand up and yourself traverse to pierce into Nineveh, the great city, and you must cry aloud in it, because the croaking aloud as a raven from the worthless evil in it steps up towards me."

3 And Jonas stands up to run off away from there to Tharseis, from out of the gazing visage of the Lord. And he steps down into Joppe. There he finds a captain of a ship with his ship presently going step by step into Tharseis. And he gives the sailing fare for it. And he steps inside into it - from this to plunge into Tharseis in the midst of them from out of the gazing visage of the Lord.

4 And the Lord was awakening from out of sleep a breath upon the sea. And a great billow causes itself to come to exist in the sea.

5 And the ship was in constant peril of being hammered into bits.

6 And the professional sailors cause themselves to fear. And each and every one of them shout wildly up to his god. And they themselves work to eject the equipment that is in the ship into the sea, to be lightened from off of those things.

7 But Jonas steps down into the cavity of the ship. And he was sleeping deeply and was snoring and groaning. The captain comes towards him and lays forth to him words, "Why are you snoring and groaning? Stand up and start calling upon your god yourself! That way the god may thoroughly save us and we may not be destroying ourselves from out of existence!"

8 And each and every one of them says towards his neighbor, "Come here and let us throw bits of wood

9 and we may know for sure who is the source by which the worthless evil itself is existing with us."

10 And they throw bits of wood and the piece of wood falls down from out of flight upon Jonas.

11 And they lay forth in words towards him,

12 "State for us what your occupation is, and from which place you are yourself coming, and from out of what sort of region and from out of what sort of people are you existing."

13 And he lays forth in words towards them, "I am existing as a slave of the Lord.

14 And I am myself revering the Lord God of the sky above, who makes the sea and the dry land."

15 And the men cause themselves to fear a great fear and lay forth in words towards him,

16 "What is that thing which you do?",

17 on account that the men know that from out of the gazing visage of the Lord he was existing, running off away, since he states such to them.

18 And they lay forth in words towards him, "What will we do to you so that the sea will then tire out from off of us?"

19 Because the sea itself has been traversing to pierce the ship and has been awaking from out of it a greater swelling billow.

20 And Jonas lays forth in words towards them,

21 "You must raise me and toss me in, into the sea and the sea will tire from off of you.

22 Because I knew that through me the great swelling billow itself is existing upon you."

23 And the men themselves were chaotically striving to twist about back towards the land, but they were themselves being incapable, because the sea was itself traversing to pierce and was awaking from out of it a greater one upon them.

24 And they shout wildly up towards the Lord and lay forth in words,

25 "Absolutely do not in any way, Lord!

26 May we not be completely destroying ourselves out of existence on account of the soul of that human being,

27 And may you not place upon us equitable blood on account of you, Lord, since you were desiring a turn. And you made it.

28 And they take Jonas and toss him out into the sea.

29 And the sea restructures itself out from its tumult.

30 And the men cause themselves to fear a great fear because of the Lord. And they rush in with hard breathe to sacrifice sacrifices to the Lord. And they themselves wishfully pray hopeful prayers.

31 And the LORD arranges in an orderly manner for a huge sea creature to drink Jonas down accordingly.

Chapter 2

1 And Jonas was existing in the cavity of the sea creature three days and three nights.

2 And Jonas himself wishfully prays towards the LORD his God from out of the cavity of the sea creature. And he lays forth saying,

3 "I shout in my pressure towards the LORD my God

4 and he listens closely to me.

5 From out of a cavity, from out of unseen Hades, from out of my cry

6 you hear my tone.

7 You thrust me away, casting me into profound depths of the heart of a sea, as an unwanted fish and currents encircle me to imprison me.

8 All your lofty things in the midst of the air along with your billows break through upon me. And I lay forth saying, 'I pushed myself from off of your eyes.

9 Will I then rightly orient myself towards the one, to gaze forward upon your terrifyingly clean temple?'

10 Water pours itself all about me until it reaches my breath!

11 An unfathomable depth encircles me at the final end. My head sinks into fissures being cracked open from mountains.

12 I descend further and further into a ground from which the locks of it are perpetual restrainers.

13 And a shriveling of my life must ascend higher and higher.

14 O LORD, my God!

15 In this, leaving off my breath from me,

16 I remind myself of the LORD.

17 And I hope that my wishful prayer might come forward to you into your terrifyingly clean temple.

18 Those themselves guarding to protect empty things, which chew up, and lies, which deceive, abandon their compassion.

19 But I with a tone of praise and from out of agreement will rush in with hard breath to sacrifice to you. As far as I myself wishfully pray I will give over from me to you, to the LORD of salvation.'"

20 And he himself arranges in an orderly manner with the sea creature and he throws out Jonas upon the dry land.

Chapter 3

1 And a laying forth in word from the Lord causes itself to come into existence towards Jonas from out of a second time, laying forth in word,

2 "You must stand up and you must yourself traverse to pierce into Nineveh, the great city, and you must cry aloud in it in synchronicity with the proclamation, the one which I utter in front towards you."

3 And Jonas stands up and he himself traverses to pierce into Nineveh in synchronicity with the things the LORD utters.

4 And Nineveh was existing as a strategic city to God, at least three days traveling in, about, and out by any road.

5 And Jonas himself begins from this to enter into the city, as it takes one day to traverse to pierce,

6 And he cries out and lays forth words,

7 "Three days yet and Nineveh will twist itself down accordingly."

8 And the men of Nineveh put their trust in God and cry out publicly declaring a fast and they sink themselves down into sackcloth whether great or small among them.

9 And this word laid forth squeezes up alongside up to the ruler of Nineveh.

10 And he stands up from off of his throne and he himself takes up his vestment all about him off of himself.

11 And he invests onto himself sackcloth and sits down accordingly upon ashes.

12 And he himself cries out publicly and he himself says in Nineveh alongside the ruler and alongside his cabinet members, to whom he gave greatness, laying forth in words,

13 "The human beings and the domesticated animals and the plow animals and the sheep must not taste anything, nor anyone of them be allotting for himself food, nor drink water."

14 And the human beings sink themselves down into sackcloth, together with the domesticated animals, and they shout wildly up to God unrelentingly.

15 And each one of them twists off from his road of harmful evil and from off of unrighteousness, that which is in his hand,

16 laying forth in words, "Who knew if God would exercise his mind in the midst of this occasion

17 And will twist off from out of his intense passion to stretch out and from off of his heated passion to rush in with hard breath to sacrifice and may not at all be completely destroying?"

18 And God stares at to discern their works that they turn off from their harmfully evil roads.

19 And God exercises his mind in the midst of this occasion regarding the worthless evil, which from all of that he utters to do to them, but does not do.

20 And Jonas grieves within himself a great grief and altogether

21 he pours himself into a mixture of strong costly scents and he himself wishfully prays forward to the LORD and says,

22 "O LORD! Were these very words of mine, which were laid forth, not mine while I was in my land?

23 Through that I hoped to prevent the unwanted result, and to run off away from there to Tharseis.

24 And this was on the very account that I know that you are by nature merciful and deeply grieved, withholding anger a long time and full of mercy and exercising your mind in the midst of the occasion regarding the worthless evils.

25 And now, absolute ruler, LORD, you must take my voluntary breaths, my soul from me, because if I am to be living, it is more beautiful for me to die."

26 And the LORD lays forth saying towards Jonas, "Did you grieve yourself violently?"

27 And Jonas comes out from the town and sits down accordingly in an alternative place off from the city. And he makes for himself a useful place for shade. And he was sitting himself down accordingly, down under it in a shade, that he may consider what will itself be existing in the city.

28 And the LORD God arranges towards a vine in an orderly manner and it steps up over Jonas' head, and by that to be existing as shade over and above his head,

29 and by that to be shading him from off of his worthless evils.

30 And Jonas cheers himself up with a great cheerfulness exactly because of the vine.

31 And God arranges forward in a worm

32 in the break of dawn of the next day.

33 And he deliberately strikes upon the vine and it dries itself up completely.

34 And it causes itself to be simultaneously, that the Sun ascends and God arranges in an orderly manner towards a wind of burning heat, for them to burn together.

35 And the Sun deliberately strikes upon the head of Jonas and he becomes weakened in the voluntary breaths, in the soul.

36 And he was laying forth from off of himself his voluntary breaths, the soul

37 of him and laying forth in words, "It is more beautiful for me to die than to live."

38 And God lays forth in word towards Jonas,

39 "Did you grieve yourself violently about the vine?"

40 And he lays forth in words, "I grieved myself violently even until death!"

41 And the LORD lays forth in word,

42 "You restrain yourself over the vine, from which you do not undergo hardship upon it and you do not make it grow by feeding and exercising it, which comes to be under nighttime and under nighttime completely destroys itself.

43 But will I not restrain myself over Nineveh, the strategic city, in which is dwelling accordingly more than

44 a hundred twenty thousand human beings,

45 some of which do not know their receiving right hand from their powerful left hand, along with many domesticated animals?"
